HEADS DOWN & BOOGIE TIME - JOHN COGHLAN'S QUO, ZEPHYR LOUNGE FRI 3RD NOVEMBER
NewsStatus Quo are high up on my most attended gig list with at least 6 shows over the years dating back to 1982 and all at the Birmingham NEC and that 1982 show was the day before famous Royal rocker! Prince Charles went along as that show raised money for "The Princes Trust", so it was Status Quo by Royal Appointment that year!
Unfortunately drummer John Coghlan had departed the band by that time but there is no doubt that most of the bands top albums included Mr Coghlan and the classic Quo line-up and album wise we are talking about stone cold classics like Piledriver, Hello, Quo, Blue You and the amazing Status Quo Live recorded in 1977 in Glasgow.
Johns aim "is to recreate an authentic 70's Quo Sound" with his band and with set lists that can include gems such as ‘Break The Rules', ‘Claudie', ‘Big Fat Mama', Down Down' and many more this looks like being a fab trip down memory lane.
Tickets for the show are available on-line at the Leamington Assembly
