PAUL SIMON'S GRACELAND ALBUM CELEBRATED AT THE ASSEMBLY
NewsOne of the most acclaimed albums in music history is celebrated this Sunday (12th November) at The Leamington Assembly with a full performance of the iconic Graceland by The London African Gospel Choir.
Released in 1986 the album was heavily influenced by the music of South Africa and several of the countries top musicians (as well as other musicians from around the world) were involved in the recording including Ladysmith Black Mambazo who went on to have a great deal of international success after the albums release and when I caught them in action with the wife at the Warwick Arts Centre a while back they were spectacular.
This should be a musical and visual delight as the choir who regularly perform to sell out audiences around the country bring the colour, vibrance and melodies of this amazing album to life on the Assembly stage.
Tickets available from the Leamington Assembly box Office
