We talk to Peter Drew about Music for Myton 2017

The sun's out and the Hot Music Live team have emerged from their winter caves to soak up some fine festival vibes at Party in the Dell, Scally Ally and Rugby4Heroes. Even better, next month, we're looking forward to some top giggage at Music for Myton in its new home at the Lillington Club.

Here's what you need to know.

First, it's a very special line up of local rock, ska, soul, blues and folk talent. From 7PM on Friday 30th June, the headliners are soul titans Chain of Fools with appearances from As Easy, Yellow King, Room 17 and Grass Routes. On Saturday from 2PM we have Southern Cross, The Mutineers, Blues Extra, Firedaze, The Electric Moonshine, The Blurtones, Carrick Duo, Electric Underground, The Chaos Band, and finishing up with local rock heroes, the excellent Jolly Rogers.

Second, it's a perfect venue. Bands will be performing in a proper hall with a raised stage, great visibility, lots of room to dance and plenty of seating. For perfect live sound, James Archer will be on the desk. Meanwhile, in between sets, while the rockers are schlepping their Marshalls on and off the stage, Dave Duquemin will host acoustic sessions in the comfortable bar area. It's a genuinely friendly venue and manager Kim Morris is looking forward to welcoming musicians and fans and showing how much the club can offer local people.

Third, it's a great cause. All the money raised from the £5 ticket price goes to Myton Hospice.

And … it's organised by the notorious promotion team of Peter Drew and Simon Button, purveyors of the finest festivals, giants of GristFest, and all round good guys!
