"I Wish It Was Summer (At Christmas Time)" by Jack Blackman and the Beautiful Wreck

Review

Christmas should involve thinking about others (and goodness knows everyone around us has need of our love & support currently) so I am particularly pleased to urge you fervently to check out  the brand new single by Jack Blackman and the Beautiful Wreck,  "I Wish It Was Summer (At Christmas Time)" which has just been released today.

You can enjoy it via this link:

There are two very good reasons to do so: firstly, the song is in aid of Musicians Against Homelessness and donations to Crisis can be made here:

As you probably know Jack works regularly with vulnerable people, those who are socially isolated & homeless people through Street Arts.

If the notion of supporting your fellow human beings was not incentive enough, (and it should be) the icing on the cake is that this is a very fine tune which should set your toes a-tapping & maybe even get you on your feet dancing.

A wonderful song which had me hooked from the first couple of bars, it shows yet another facet of Jack's artistry (he's been doing a lot of that in 2020) being a much more rock & roll styling: in fact it's got that sort of rough edged garage rock feel: somewhere between a Nuggets track & the Ramones. No wonder I like it so much.

The lyrics are witty & as fun filled as the accompanying video: you'd have to have a heart of stone not to embrace "I Wish It Was Summer (At Christmas Time)" whether you have any mistletoe to hand or not.

More infectious than you know what, as intoxicating as mulled wine: don't be a Scrooge please. Check out the song, let it cheer you up & then give to those who need our support so much.

Santa hats off to Jack Blackman and the Beautiful Wreck
